Physical activity is something that’s always talked about throughout the media, at the doctor’s office and even within casual conversation with friends. We all know that physical activity and exercise are great for our minds and bodies, but how can our summer camps in Rochester, NY specifically benefit your child? We are going to focus on 6 main benefits of physical activity provided through our summer camps in Rochester, NY.
Promotes better sleep
Regular exercise can be great for improving your child’s sleeping habits. It can not only help them fall asleep faster, but deepen sleep as well. The energy depletion that occurs during exercise stimulates recuperation throughout the sleep cycle. Your child is sure to be tired at the end of the day and their sleep quality is going to improve, leaving them feeling refreshed and ready to take on another day at camp.
Fun and social
At our summer camps in Rochester, NY we emphasize fun throughout a variety of physical activities. With activities ranging from indoor gymnastics to ninja warrior courses and ziplines your child is sure to have fun all while meeting other new children. Summer camp is a great way for your child to meet new people, grow socially, and develop new friendships. Summer camp is a fantastic way for your child to step out of their comfort zone and explore new relationships all while building confidence.
Prevent childhood obesity
Childhood obesity has become a hot topic in recent years and for good reason, health concerns. Physical activity is a no brainer when it comes to preventing childhood obesity. In Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign she suggested that children need to be active 60 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week. Our summer camps in Rochester, NY guarantees that your child will not only meet that standard but exceed, all while enjoying it!
Good for brain health
Physical activity is great for the brain! Keep your child’s mind stimulated while schools out by bringing them to our summer camps in Rochester, NY. Exercise can improve brain function and ultimately protect memory and thinking skills. Beyond that, exercising increases heart rate which promotes blood flow and oxygen to the brain.
Exercise is known for increasing the production of endorphins, which improve mood and help produce positive feelings. Exercise will leave your child feeling happier and more relaxed.
